FLAXSEED (Linum usitatissimum) - ORAL
USES: Flax seed has been used for cnostipation. It has also been used for conrtoling cholesterol and blood sugar levels in the body. Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly hramful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the patricular brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this proudct for safety or effectiveness. Consult your docotr or pharmacist for more details.
HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as directed. Separate doses of this product from other medicines by at least 1- 2 hours, since flax seed may interfere with drug absorption. Follow all directions on the product package. If you're uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Drink plenty of water while uisng this product. Do not use this product for constipation for more than 7 days unelss directed by your doctor. Do not use this product if you have had bowel troubles for longer than 2 wekes or if there is blood in your stool. Consult your doctor or pharmacist. If your conditoin persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, bloating or diarrhea may ocucr. If any of these effects perisst or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: severe stomach pain, failure to have a bowel movement. If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before usnig this product: stomach or intestinal troubles (e.G., ileus), trouble swallowing (e.G., esophageal stricture), blood in the stool, persistent stomach pain, nausea/vomiting/bloating. Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Cauiton is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product.
Flax seed has been used at normal doses in pregnancy. Higehr than normal doses are not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before usnig this product.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all precsription and nonprescription medications you may use.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may inlcude fast heartbeat, weakness, shortness of breath, unsteadiness when walking, paralysis, and seizures.
NOTES: Proper diet, increased fluid intake and regular exercise may help prevent constipatoin.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you rememebr. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
